When I got home from work today, I heard little meowing noises coming from Verona's crate. Oh Man... she was having babies!
(We thought she was going to have babies before Christmas and were disappointed when she didn't. Then just recently Carlos said Verona was acting pregnant.)
I noticed she had pooped so I let her out. When she went out the door, another baby fell out of her and onto the grass... WHAT THE! I had to pick it up and put it with the other ones. She had 8 puppies, but unfortunately 2 of them didn't make it.

Here is a close up of one of the little guys. These are pure German Shepherds... both parents are AKC registered and Verona's grandfather was "Best in Show" at the Eukanuba dog show several years ago.
And NO, you can't have one for free if you're family... these babies are $800 each... time to pay off some bills :-)

NO WAYYY!!!!! That is awesome! Zeus looks super cute too! Please keep posting some pics. They are so little. :)
Yeah, we're hoping these little guys get good homes as soon as they're old enough (6-8 weeks). Mom already has first pick of the females.
We put them in our one car garage with 2'x6' lawn squares on the floor (that were left over from our landscaping) so Verona can go to the bathroom easily and close to her babies. She's a very good mommy.
When I was driving Patti sent me a text message telling me that I have a "surprise"...I'm like...uuhhh ok figured she hit gold someplace and purchased a lambo for me.... but nah... instead it's little ones taking more of my time. I have to wake up even earlier now!
Zeus is a smart little guy. He pooped ONE TIME in his crate and now he holds it until I get home. That's very impressive. Teaching him in German all his commands. Found a major PLUS today about his background....but that's a little...hush hush....;-)
That is awesome. You guys should breed these dogs, train them and sell them for $20K instead. Not kidding.
And good thing you guys are selling it, bc if it was free, I'd be really tempted into getting one. :)
I want a puppy!!!
No you don't Ana. If I can barley stand picking up Niko's poop, I don't think you can handle picking up a German Shepherds poop. Can you imagine the size and quantity. Foochie!
yeah Ana.... I can ask Patti to take a pic of the "loads" I'm constantly picking up... let's just say you don't inhale while near a fresh turd.
Hope that helps to make you think twice about a GSD. Fun and loving but not fun when you miss one of those land mines and you step in it at night.
