Last night we attended the Come Alive concert in Bakersfield, CA. featuring: Mark Schultz and Point of Grace. I knit Mark a scarf with his and his wife's names on it... he seemed to like it. My husband and I were in the front row, center. It was a good time :-)

This weekend we worked on putting pavers in our side yard.

This reminds me of when I got pregnant with Eliseo. The doctor called to let us know the pregnancy test was positive. The doctor said, "Do you want to be referred to an ObGyn or do you want to go the other route".
I had no idea what he meant by "the other route". So I asked, “What is the other route?”
He said, “Termination”.
I was so incredibly shocked, insulted, and extremely angry that he actually offered that. What kind of crap is that?! You don’t offer to murder someone’s baby, what the heck dude! I politely said that we wanted an ObGyn, but at the same time I wanted to reach through the phone and smack him.

Gwen and Lauren are sisters. Gwen is 15 months old, but not yet walking. Lauren is 3 years old and we're trying to potty train her.

Ariel had a little accident today. She hit herself right between the eyes. I didn't see what she hit herself on, but it left a pretty good gash. She is doing well. This is a photo taken between bandaid changes. Been putting Neosporin on it. Mom suggested sugar so I'll try that and I hear Mederma is also good, don't want her to have a scar.

Ariel started walking yesterday. It was so funny. Eliseo yelled to me and said, "Mommy, Ariel's walking". She just got up and walked across the room. She became a pro instantly. I think she has been able to for a long time... she just didn't feel like it until yesterday (Mom's birthday).

Hot Import Nights

Last night Carlos' Toyota Supra (pictured above) was in a car show.

The car show is called "Hot Import Nights" and was held at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

The magazine "Import Tuner" is going to do a cover feature story about the car.
"Turbo" magazine also wants to do a story about his car.

It will also be one of the cars in the background in the new movie "Fast and Furious".

The movie opens on April 3, 2009.

Michelle Rodriguez looks pretty tough in the trailer, very cool. I could do without these lousy "women" extras who have zero respect for themselves, but whatever.

I took Ariel to Claire's in the Tyler Galleria yesterday and had her ears pierced. She cried for about 30 seconds and then she was fine. I don't know if you can see her little gold earrings in this picture, you may have to click on it to get a closer look. She is so beautiful I can hardly stand it.

We went to Disneyland the Saturday after Christmas.

Here is Ariel (only 6 months old) on the "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage" ride. She actually rode 4 rides, this one, "Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters", "Jungle Cruise", & "Pirates of the Caribbean". I had to feed her on the last one since we were out of my breastmilk in bottles. Thankfully, we were sitting in the back of the boat and it was dark enough so no one could see.

Stephanie's Book Release Party was tonight in Pomona, CA.

The book is about a seven-year-old girl named Rachel who lives in a small African town with no running water and few cars. She has a large family and her parents work hard to create a good life, amid poverty and illness. When her mother dies from malaria, Rachel's friendship with a lion gives her strength and courage to live with her grief.

Carlos took me to the Castaway in Burbank for the brunch buffet.

They have a ton of food. Omletes made right in front of you, bacon & sausage, waffles, seafood pasta, vegetable lasagna, chicken parmesan, crab legs, salmon, salad bar, fruit w/chocolate fountain, pies, cheesecake, specialty desserts, danishes, etc.

Harvest Time

It's harvest time again in sunny Selma, CA.

We went to Dad & Mom's house this weekend to pick up our son.

The grapes are almost all picked and quickly turning into the lovely Sun-Maid raisins.

Saturday morning we went to Sierra's (Cowboy's daughter) 3rd birthday party.
It was a hot day, but it was on an animal farm. There were horses, donkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, & rabbits.

There were two pinatas. Eliseo wouldn't hit it, but here is Cruz ready to bust that thing open. Sierra's mother, Kelly, let me hit it the last time when it was about to rip open. I hit it and candy flew all over the place. We told Eliseo to get the candy... he picked up one lollipop and walked away.

Big Bear

We spent last weekend in Big Bear. We stayed at the Storybook Inn. Carlos was less than impressed with the hotel, but it was quaint and cozy.

We had a fun time fishing on Big Bear Lake. Didn't catch any fish, but still had a good time.

Elisa and her two daughters came to visit us for a week. Last Thursday, Mari came down and joined us. This morning Claudia came by with her two kids for a visit, so we had a full house for a while. Six adults and six kids.

Mari drove Elisa and her girls back to Selma today.

A little drama yesterday when everyone was in the front yard walking around and taking pictures. We spotted a mouse in our front yard. Our female German Shepherd, Verona, took care of it. In this photo you can see the red broom that mom was using to hold it still for this photo.

It was so hard and I didn't think I was going to make it... But I did it naturally, with no pain medication. I finally got my VBAC and I'm so glad it's over.

Those Bradley classes helped so much (Thanks Sherry for your awesome teaching!)

Also, my Doula Kelleen was amazing and I will never be able to thank her enough.

My mom was also there for me helping me so much.

Most of all I thank my husband who was there by my side encouraging me, praying for me, and telling me that I could do it when I thought I couldn't.

Thank you God for sending us another healthy angel!

For Father's Day we barbequed carne asada, chicken, and vegetable kabobs.

Eliseo got his Daddy an MP3 player for Father's Day.

We fixed up Eliseo's new room today. We bought him a new bedroom set so he's sleeping in a real bed tonight instead of a crib. I thought we should fix him a new room so we can put the new baby in his old room which is closer to ours. Of course the first few weeks the baby will be in a bassinet in our room since I'll be up every few hours to feed him/her.

He seems to like his new room, but as we put him to bed tonight, he's having a difficult time going to sleep so we'll see what happens.

We put Gizmo in his room to sleep with him, but not sure if it'll help.

Baby Shower

My co-workers gave me a surprise baby shower last Monday.

The gifts were cute, mostly yellow since we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl.
I got little wash cloths, towels, onesies, and a few other items.

The theme was Noah's Ark. We had chicken, beans and rice, and Paula made cupcakes.

The table was cute with candy and little animals (that Eliseo is playing with now).
Thanks girls, it was great!

4D Ultrasound

My OB said my due date was June 14th, but I knew that was too soon since my cycles are never 28 days apart. I told her it was more like the 18th. After this ultrasound, the technician said my due date is June 20th.

Sears Photos

We took Eliseo to Sears to get portraits taken for his 2nd birthday.

This first one of him with the number 2 was taken last Sunday.

Our original appointment was on Saturday at 6pm, but on the way there he fell asleep and when he woke up he was in a bad mood, so we had to go back on Sunday at 11am for the second half of the session hoping he'd be in a better mood.

The ones of him in the black and white outfit were taken on Saturday.

He was happy when he was with Carlos or me, but for some reason he would only cry when we tried to sit him with Vito & Vita. We were a tad upset with him, but I guess he was moody that day. He did look very spiffy in this outfit though... with a tie and everything... a little man. Doesn't he look just like his father? Very handsome.

He didn't waste time before digging into his cake.

We bought him a Little Tykes swing set that has two slides and two swings.

We got him a new Batman motorized quad that he can ride like a motorcycle.

It was Eliseo's first time at the beach.

He fell once when the waves went over his feet.

Verona's New Puppies

When I got home from work today, I heard little meowing noises coming from Verona's crate. Oh Man... she was having babies!
(We thought she was going to have babies before Christmas and were disappointed when she didn't. Then just recently Carlos said Verona was acting pregnant.)
I noticed she had pooped so I let her out. When she went out the door, another baby fell out of her and onto the grass... WHAT THE! I had to pick it up and put it with the other ones. She had 8 puppies, but unfortunately 2 of them didn't make it.

Here is a close up of one of the little guys. These are pure German Shepherds... both parents are AKC registered and Verona's grandfather was "Best in Show" at the Eukanuba dog show several years ago.
And NO, you can't have one for free if you're family... these babies are $800 each... time to pay off some bills :-)

Resurrection Day Sunday

Dad & Mom went with us to Church on Sunday morning. We got there right on time and it was so crowded. We had to park in an overflow dirt parking lot and it was quite warm. We sat in a little dome shaped structure and watched the service on a big screen. It was comfortable and air conditioned.
After church we had Shakey's pizza, chicken & mojos. Then mom made some delicious dessert with strawberries, angel food cake, and whipped cream... MMmmm..

Then we hid some eggs in the front yard for Eliseo to find. He was a little tired because he just woke up from his nap, but he did find all the eggs.

A little incident at Daycare

Yesterday Eliseo tripped and fell while playing outside. When I picked him up he had a bandaid on his upper lip. He didn't hurt his teeth at all which is good, but he does have a cut inside his upper lip. He was a little cranky that evening, but he's doing well.

I was never into the 10 dozen roses thing. I like 3 and that's good enough for me. Once he bought me 3 dozen when I got back from a business trip in Minnesota and I was 5 months pregnant with Eliseo. I'm just not a big fan of the clean up when they all wilt and stuff.

BLACKBERRY or DASH?

I'm having a difficult time choosing which phone to get with my new cellular service. I'm switching from Cingular/AT&T to T-Mobile. My AT&T payment is a bit expensivo so I'm switching to the new plan offered by T-Mobile (1000 whenever minutes for $39.99/mo). I like these two phones. I'm more interested in the Dash because it can capture video and BlackBerry 8100 can't. Also the Dash's screen is wider. Although I do like the little roller ball on the BlackBerry. These two phones are each $99 with a new plan w/T-Mobile. I really wanted the new pink BlackBerry 8130 since it does capture video, but it is only offered by Verizon. Their plans are too expensive so I'm choosing T-Mobile.

Let me know what phone you all use and which phone you wish you had or would recommend.

Here is a trailer for the movie "The Business of Being Born", by Executive Producer Ricki Lake. It looks like an amazing movie about natural childbirth and how giving birth is a billion dollar industry. It questions if hospitals are doing what's best for the mother or what's best for themselves. The end of the movie is a home video of Ricki Lake giving birth to her baby at her home... how it should be!

Yesterday we took Eliseo to the zoo for the first time.

There was a loose peacock and he would follow it, but wouldn't get too close.

We saw the hippos, but were only allowed to sit on a fake one.

We met up with Carlos' business associate Jeremy and wife Stacy.

She's 6 months pregnant (2 months further along than I am).

Carlos & I went to Oakhurst for a while. It was a pretty boring drive... just hills and dirt, but if you keep driving you'll end up in breath-taking Yosemite ($20 entrance fee, but we didn't go that far). This photo is of a souvenir shop in Oakhurst.
